Prior to law school, Nick was an entrepreneur. With a partner and some seed money from an entrepreneurship competition, he started and grew a successful business. This experience showed both the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Now, as an attorney, Nick enjoys working with businesses to help them find success. With experience in representing businesses, you can trust his abilities ranging from incorporations, contract negotiation, employment issues, transactional work, debt negotiation, business purchases and sales, to advising on business strategies and decisions.

During law school, Nick also attained a Master's of Arts in Environment and Natural Resources (ENR). His background in business and ENR gave him meaningful insight into the oil and gas industry which benefits oil and gas clients. His experience in the oil and gas arena has consisted mostly of landowner representation, from negotiation and enforcement of surface use agreements and mineral leases and title work, to auditing damage and royalty payments. Nick offers meaningful perspective and contract solutions to landowners on issues which range far beyond money and liability.

Over his practice, and while he and his wife Kelly began raising their own family, Nick has developed a passion for helping families plan their futures through effective Estate Planning.  Nick finds professional and personal satisfaction in ensuring the families he works with have the information and tools they need to realize their goals and protect their families.  The entire Lubnau team’s passion and work in this area of the law have earned them admission into the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. 

Nick also practices in a variety of other areas of the law - as most Wyoming attorneys do – including litigation, real estate, easements, and defense of non-competition agreements. He prides himself on being a very well-rounded and pragmatic attorney, endeavoring to find solutions to clients' problems in the most efficient manner possible.
